Meet Kaya :) We got her on 13 Feb 2020 from someone who was giving her away! According to her owner, she was bought on 23 July 2020, and she was around 1 month of age then! My dad named her Kaya because he thought it was an easy and catchy name to remember by. My whole family agreed and we went along with that name! If you are curious about what her previous name was, it was Lunox - a character in Mobile Legends.

So why did we get Kaya?
We were looking for a piggy friend for Jelly, our 7 year old piggy at that point of time. She had just lost her daughter, Dino, and we thought a friend might be good for her.

This was her on her first night at our place, welcomed her with veggies and tomatoes. She did not seem to fancy it much though. She was really terrified of us those first few weeks!

She slowly warmed up to us... letting us watch her eat her food :)

And clip up her gorgeous hair that grew out after a few weeks!
If you can see from this video, her fur when we first got her was not grown out. Her then owners thought it would be easier to keep her clean by chopping off her fur once in a while. However, we decided not to do that here, and let her hair grow out :) Of course I do trim her fur here and there, to help neaten any loose strands!
She was also willing to let me trim her nails the next day after I got her. She kept really still.
We tried to put Kaya and Jelly together a couple of times after Kaya's 2-week quarantine.
Note: It is always wise to separate new pets from existing ones, especially if you have no medical history of the new pet. this is to ensure health of both pets are good before introducing them to each other. Getting the new pet checked out by your local Veterinarian would be a wise decision to make as well. That said, Kaya did get diagnosed with pneumonia a few weeks later. I will be sharing with you guys more about that in another blog post. Stay tuned for that.

All calm and chill.
As chill as they might have appeared in some photographs.. they were not getting along very well... we could not put them together as Kaya was making Jelly upset and agitated :(
They both lived their separate lives until Jelly left us earlier this April.
